KATIE VERNER – DIRECTOR & TEACHER

Katie enjoyed a very successful musical theatre career in London’s West End along with tours across Great Britain and internationally for 17 years. This year (2017) she has just finished in London’s West End in the comedy play ‘Stepping Out’. Katie has taught musical theatre workshops for children of all ages including 2 years at The Hasland School of Dancing in Herne Bay, Kent. She lived in Los Angeles from 3 years from 2011 with her son Samuel who is now 12 years old. After developing the Little Music Stars curriculum in LA she returned back to the UK and is now living in Whitstable and is running Little Music Stars classes here in Kent, with plans to expand the LMS curriculum nationwide.
LUCY WESTON – TEACHER

Lucy’s love of the performing arts began at an early age and she spent her childhood years engaged in dance, singing and acting and performing in numerous shows. She completed a Btech in Dance and went on to gain a BA Hons in Dance and Performing Arts at Middlesex University. Her love of performing led her to Cyprus where she worked for five seasons as a presenter and singer in a bar. Keen to pursue a career in teaching, Lucy studied at Tempo Dance and Theatre School in Cyprus, gaining teaching qualifications in Tap, Ballet and Jazz. On completing her training Lucy taught at the School, running a wide range of classes for all ages from 6 month olds to adults. She also taught classes in singing and musical theatre and led many workshops.
Lucy moved back to the UK in 2012 to be closer to her family and now lives in Canterbury with her husband and 2 children. She is delighted to be returning to teaching and is passionate about the value of movement and singing for babies and young children.
CLAIRE WINSPER- TEACHER

Claire is an actor who has performed extensively in the West End and at The National Theatre as well as many of the leading theatres in and around the UK. Most recently in the multi award winning production of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time. As a trained dancer Claire has also worked in Feature Film, TV and many theatre venues.
Alongside a performing career Claire has been leading workshops, working with numerous companies and schools, including UCL, The National Youth Orchestra and The Royal Academy of Dance. Claire is currently a workshop leader for The National Theatre Learning Department and is passionate about enabling people to explore their potential through the Arts.
Claire moved to Whitstable just over a year ago with her husband Richard and son Zach who is 6!
LUCY SMALLMAN – FRANCHISEE & TEACHER

Pre School – Happy Days Pre School, Beckenham
Lucy Smallman has been involved in the performing arts from the tender age of 2. She trained at Italia Conti, and later at the BRIT school where she specialised in dance. She is an experienced workshop leader, having run sessions for local youth theatre group, dramalab.
In addition to her work in the dramatic arts, Lucy embarked upon a career with children when she volunteered at Bromley Road infant school and subsequently trained at Baston pre-school in Hayes where she attained a level 3 diploma in childcare in 2010. By 2012 she became the manager of Happy Days pre school in Beckenham, and is now delighted to be a Little Music Stars workshop leader.
Lucy currently lives in Beckenham with her 8 year old daughter. She loves keeping fit, going to the theatre and spending time with her family.
